You had awoken to the irritating sound of your alarm, you rubbed your eyes in attempt to wake yourself up. You quickly reached over to your phone turning off the constant ringing. ‘18 New Messages’, you blunk, 18?! ‘How long have I been asleep?’ you thought. You quickly scrolled through the messages. 

‘Are you awake yet? Happy Birthday~! I better be the first one to wish you a happy birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY~! :D’, you giggled at that one from your best friend _____. 

‘Happy Birthday _____-ah~! ^^’  

‘Happy Birthday Birthday Girl~!’ 

You continued to scroll through the other messages that were all wishing you a happy birthday from friends, relatives and even the SHINee members. It was then you noticed something strange your boyfriend, Onew hadn’t wished you a happy birthday. Nor was he beside you when you had woken up. You sighed, knowing that another schedule had claimed your boyfriends day and on your birthday too. 

You quickly got out of bed and got ready, it was your birthday after all you might as well make it a fun day instead of moping around because your clumsy and adorable boyfriend had forgotten your birthday. As you were finishing up with getting ready your phone began to ring with a familiar ringtone that was your boyfriend’s voice, “Hello?” 

“______-ah~!” It was your best friend _____. “Happy Birthday~! I was the first right?” 

You chuckled and assured her she was. “Good, now what has he done for your birthday? What’d you get? Are you doing anything special with him?” Your friend continued her questions until she noticed how quiet you were, it was then you explained how he had gone before you had woken up and didn’t even send you a birthday text let alone call you.  Your friend paused, “Hmm, what does the birthday girl want to do on her birthday? Shall we do something fun?” 

Your mood brightened a bit and you both decided to head out for a day out going shopping, selca-taking and for a walk around the city while you both could eat and just have fun together in attempt to brighten your spirits and forget about your forgetful boyfriend. You were exhausted to say the least by the time you had gotten home. 

You had stepped inside the house completely tired and still slightly upset despite the fun day with your best friend. The house was completely dark, excluding one flickering light that was coming from the kitchen. Curiosity got the better of you and you had decided to check it out.

You walked quietly into the room only to see a bunch of candles lit-up into a heart shape with your boyfriend smiling sheepishly in the middle of the large heart with a lit cupcake and a bunch of your favourite flowers. “Happy Birthday _____-ah~! I’m sorry this isn’t much, but I wanted it to be perfect and this was all I could think of and it took me so long to think of something that you’d like and-”

“I love it~!“, You interrupted your rambling boyfriend. He broke out into a grin as you both stepped closer to each other avoiding the candle-lit heart as he told you to make a wish. You closed your eyes making a very important wish and blew out the candle. 

“For you”, he handed you the flowers, which you took thankfully. “I also made dinner”, you gave him a careful look knowing how clumsy he was made you worry a little. But when you looked toward the dining room table that was set up beautifully your worries and doubts faded away. The dinner looked perfect, roast chicken with a variety of vegetables and other foods that made your mouth want to water. 

“Thank you Oppa”, you hugged him tightly. He hugged you back wrapping his arms carefully, around you, leaning down and capturing your lips gently and passionately. 

“Anything for my Birthday Girl”, he smiled and you two spent the rest of the night together celebrating your special day with the person that you both loved most.
